Landscape After Dark:  Intro to Astrophotography Workshop with Norman Camera and Sigma

The goal of this workshop is for you to leave fully prepared and confident to shoot the night sky on your own. We'll guide you through the basics of astrophotography to help you plan your outings and capture great images of the stars.

This two-part workshop will preface with an introductory webinar to introduce you to the fundamentals of location scouting, scheduling your outings, implementing your camera settings and dialing in your focus to get the best possible results while shooting under the stars. We’ll also review some of the impacts your primary equipment choices can make as well as some considerations for accessories for the evening. You’ll leave ready to head out and make your own unforgettable images of the night sky.

We’ll follow up on the introductory webinar with a field session at the Veen Observatory to put the lessons learned into practice. Sigma will have a limited number of fast aperture, wide angle lenses available for attendees to use during the event. Come prepared with your own equipment and see what a difference a bright aperture can make at night! Instructors will be on hand to help attendees apply the techniques covered in the class as we work through the process of photographing the night sky. You’ll leave this workshop with the experience and confidence to continue photographing the night sky on your own.
